Calling All Squatters to SQUAT SECTOR:

THE EMPTIES LIST squatting project is mutual aid in action researching, mapping and listing the empty properties of London. This functions as a practical aid to those who seek to recycle abandoned or speculative empty buildings to self-house themselves against the madness of work and rent. Co-ordinated by few but used by many, The Empties List has been running for over five years now. But London is a big old town and we know that there are more empties out there than we currently list. For this event, we seek willing bodies to play Squat Sector, a few hours spent together mapping London empties ripe for occupation. A grand attempt to expand greatly The Empties List for one and all.

Come on foot, by bike to the Squat Sector Bunker to receive your small part of the Sector map and full instructions. It's real mutual aid, it's give and take. It's squat-tastic! 56a at 3pm

· Sunday 19th June:

MAPPING ST MARY NEWINGTON: Mapping Chaos + Micro-Walk#2 +Picnic

The former churchyard at St Mary Newington, by the Elephant and Castle, is a crazy pagan open space full of chaotic self-destructive acts against Babylon and its contents. Time stands still, space evaporates or folds in on itself. As has been asid before '...this turbulent land, continuing torque from the backspin of rejecting any edifice, is pagan land. Feel it. Pre-Christian, spitting out Gods and Goddeses. Pre-idol, pre-totem, beginning at nothing. A wonderful place', quoted in 'Nine Things That Are There' (Past Tense Publications, 2001). However, the forces at work are attempting again to mould the land to their £vil de$igns. As part of the class cleansing of the The Elephant, the open land is soon to have private housing built on it and the rest made over into a muncipal park with municipal type things like rules, flower beds and ASBO's. Yuk! Come to our homage to St Mary Newington and hex the plans. Sigil signs may be placed and potions may be employed. Ot just chill and enjoy the surroundings.

A series of small guided walks will fill you in on the crazy history of the site with a view towards mapping the land in case our magic is not as robust as Southwark Council's sorcerers. Blank maps and pens, crayons etc will be provided for you to survey and map this magical place in your own styles. These will then be archived. Meet Churchyard on Newington Butts, SE1 - Noon (Picnic 3pm - Bring food+drink).

Independent of this, we may also take the opportunity to investigate and 'map' the despicable banning of the Ecuadorian community's sunday volleyball social from the park in August 2004 by Lambeth Council on the pressure from a local cabal that seek a particular exclusive vision of Kennington Park.
